PUTRAJAYA, 27 April 2017 - Technology Depository Agency (TDA) witnessed the signing of an Offset Agreement between the Ministry of Finance together with Prasarana Malaysia Berhad and Alexander Dennis, to undertake local manufacturing of bus chassis in the country.
The collaboration which was part of an Industrial Collaboration Programme (ICP), registered a total of RM118 million worth of ICP Credit Value (ICV) and aims to boost the country’s effort to develop its capability in becoming the region’s hub for bus chassis manufacturing.
“Through transfer of technology and localisation of parts and components, this collaboration will not only elevate the country’s local transportation industry, at the same time it is also in line with the aspirations of the Government of Malaysia in terms of providing a better public transportation for the public”, said Dato’ Zailani Safari, Chief Executive Officer for TDA.
He added that with the support of the Government, TDA as the responsible ICP monitoring authority in Malaysia will continue to spearhead more collaborations leveraging on ICP to further develop the local industry and improve the nation’s economic growth.
