Ceremony of Certificates of Appreciation for the Industrial Collaboration Programme (ICP)
A joint site visit was conducted by representatives of Technology Depository Agency (TDA) Berhad Unit IMU, IAD, and PDRM to the Labuan Shipyard & Engineering Sdn Bhd (LSE) facility, the ICP provider under the ICP Mothership program, located in W.P. Labuan. The main objective of the visit was to assess the technical and operational capabilities of LSE and explore the potential for ICP collaboration with stakeholders.
LSE is strategically located on a 60-acre site within the Victoria Harbour area, Labuan Island, and is located in the Asia-Pacific maritime corridor. The company plays a key role in shipbuilding, ship repair, and infrastructure fabrication for the oil and gas industry.
Several initiatives have been identified as key focuses for future implementation, namely: (1) Vendor Development Program (VDP) to support the growth of local industry players; (2) Improvement of training equipment at PULAMAR such as engine refit, steering gear system, and HVAC system; (3) Digitalization of training modules at PULAMAR; (4) Collaboration with Bagan Datuk Polytechnic (PBD) in providing technical short courses such as welding and electricity for PPM; (5) Development of PDRM competencies through undergraduate and IR programs; (6) Industrial placement for PBD and PULAMAR lecturers at LSE; and (7) Industrial training for students at LSE.
