Project Description
This project focuses on supplying and installing 150,000 NORDLOCK washers for Rapid Rail to ensure bolts and nuts are fastened securely and to avoid false alarms from the Platform Intrusion Emergency Stop (PIES) system.
Project Output
Delivered and installed 150,000 NORD-LOCK washers at four Ampang Line stations, valued at RM250,000.
Project Outcome
- Zero false PIES alarms after implementation, down from 34 cases in 2022.
- Eliminates operational disruptions; 1–2 minutes reset per incident avoided.
- Minimises unnecessary train stoppages, leading to increased passenger capacity by 5% (+1,080 passengers).
- Enhances Mean Kilometre Between Failures (MKBF), improving reliability and preventing disruptions.
